Avalon Game Guide

Class Guide: All Four Heroes

Choose the class that fits your playstyle. Each hero reshapes how you speak, fight, and experience Avalon's dark narrative.

Your class is permanent — choose carefully. This guide breaks down every attribute, unlockable dialogue path, and survival strategy for each of Avalon's four hero classes. Jump to the class you want:

Stats are at Level 1. Each level-up grants +3 points to distribute freely. HP and MP grow by 5–15 per level depending on class.

Seer

"The island speaks to those who learn to listen."

Archetype: Magic-user, historian, spirit-caller • Difficulty: Medium

Base Stats (Level 1)

AttributeValueNotes
HP80Lowest of all classes — avoid prolonged combat
MP120Highest MP pool — sustain long magical sequences
STR6Very low — physical attacks deal minimal damage
INT14High — unlocks magical attacks and hidden runic puzzles
AGI10Average — reliable flee chance
CHA10Average — basic dialogue options available
WILL12Good — strong mental resistance, faster MP regen
PER14High — finds hidden items, detects traps

Seer Strengths

  • Highest INT + PER in the game — sees secrets no other class can find
  • Best lore interactions — unlocks hidden Codex entries and magical item descriptions
  • MP sustain — can run magical combat sequences without stopping to rest
  • Strong against mentally weak enemies (wisps, phantoms)

Seer Weaknesses

  • Lowest HP (80) — two strong hits can be lethal at early levels
  • Weak physical attack — STR 6 means very low base damage
  • Relies on preparation — must have the right items and spells prepared before combat

Seer Playstyle Tips

  1. Speak to every NPC before exploring combat areas — your high PER reveals hidden dialogue branches
  2. Keep 3+ Health Potions at all times — you cannot afford to take more than 2–3 hits
  3. Level INT first; each INT point increases magical damage by ~1.5×
  4. Approach Marsh of Echoes only at Level 4+ — Marsh Wraiths deal spirit damage that ignores physical armour
🔮 Best for: Players who love reading lore, finding secrets, and puzzle-solving. Not recommended for your first run if you want to focus on combat.

Rogue

"Every shadow is a doorway. Every guard has a blind spot."

Archetype: Scout, thief, trader • Difficulty: Easy

Base Stats (Level 1)

AttributeValueNotes
HP100Highest HP — best early survival
MP70Low — limited magical options
STR12Good — solid physical damage
INT8Low — most magical items are inaccessible
AGI16Highest AGI — best flee rate, acts first in combat
CHA12Above average — extra merchant discounts
WILL8Low — vulnerable to mental/spirit attacks
PER14High — finds traps and hidden stashes

Rogue Strengths

  • 100 HP + AGI 16 — by far the safest class for new players
  • Highest Agility — flee success rate is ~80% even at Level 1
  • Best merchant prices — CHA 12 unlocks cheaper prices and rare item stock
  • Acts first in most combats — often deals the killing blow before the enemy attacks

Rogue Weaknesses

  • Low INT (8) — cannot use magical equipment, misses many Seer/Mentalist dialogue options
  • Low WILL (8) — mentally weak enemies like Memoria Wraiths deal extra damage
  • Shallow narrative experience — misses the majority of lore hidden behind INT/WILL checks

Rogue Playstyle Tips

  1. Attack first, ask questions later — your AGI gives you initiative; strike before the enemy can
  2. Sell everything you don't need — CHA 12 means better prices. Gold is your best tool
  3. Level AGI to 20 for near-certain flee on any enemy — never get trapped again
  4. Equip a Poison Blade (loot drop from Phantom Soldiers) — deals damage-over-time to offset low INT
🗡 Best for: First-time players, casual players, and those who prefer exploration and trading over narrative depth.

Mentalist

"The mind is the only weapon that gets sharper the more it is used."

Archetype: Diplomat, strategist, mindbreaker • Difficulty: Hard

Base Stats (Level 1)

AttributeValueNotes
HP90Average — manageable with good preparation
MP110Very high — second only to Seer
STR6Very low — avoid pure physical combat
INT16Highest INT — unlocks everything the Seer sees, plus more
AGI10Average — normal flee rate
CHA8Below average — fewer merchant dialogue paths
WILL14High — strongest mental shield in the game
PER16Highest PER — detects everything

Mentalist Strengths

  • INT 16 + PER 16 — the most insight-rich class; unlocks every hidden dialogue, every lore fragment
  • WILL 14 — near-immune to mental attacks; Memoria Wraiths deal minimal damage
  • Can end some encounters through dialogue alone — persuade enemies to surrender
  • Best long-game class — most powerful by mid-game with proper stat investment

Mentalist Weaknesses

  • STR 6 — identical to Seer; physical damage is negligible without INT-scaling abilities
  • CHA 8 — worse merchant prices than Rogue; fewer social manipulation options
  • Hardest to play early — requires knowing which enemies you can talk down before fighting
  • MP-dependent — running out of MP mid-dungeon leaves you nearly defenceless

Mentalist Playstyle Tips

  1. Memorise enemy weaknesses — some enemies can be pacified with a PER 16+ insight, skipping combat entirely
  2. Always carry Spirit Tonics — your power is MP; losing it is losing your identity
  3. Level INT first, then WILL — each INT point increases mental damage by ~2× more than for the Seer
  4. The Forgotten Fortress is designed for the Mentalist — two encounters can be bypassed through lore dialogue
🧠 Best for: Players who want the deepest narrative experience, prefer strategy over action, and are comfortable with high difficulty early on.

Tempter Phase 3 · 18+

"Desire is a door. I am the key."

Archetype: Seducer, manipulator, desire-wielder • Difficulty: Expert

The Tempter class is locked until Avalon Phase 3, which introduces adult-only content zones, seduction mechanics, and corruption/purity alignment tracks. Selecting this class unlocks:

  • CHA 18 — the highest Charisma in the game; manipulates NPCs, merchants, and enemies alike
  • Desire-based ability tree — convert enemies to allies through seduction and bargaining
  • Adult content zones in the Forbidden Garden and Velvet Chamber
  • Dual alignment track: Corruption ↔ Purity — changes ending options
